The mystery surrounding the death of Abdulsamet Temur, whose body was found under the Nurtepe Viaduct in Eyüpsultan, Istanbul, has been unveiled. It has emerged that the suspect, who transported his friend's body in a suitcase and left it under the viaduct, placed drugs in the victim's pocket to make the incident appear as a "suicide."
A suspect who left a corpse brought in a suitcase under the Nurtepe Viaduct in Eyüpsultan, and made it look like a "suicide" with the drugs placed in the victim's pocket, was caught.
Teams from the Homicide Bureau of the Istanbul Police Department's Public Order Branch conducted an investigation regarding the death of Abdulsamet Temur (36), whose body was found under the Nurtepe Viaduct on January 26.
DRUGS FOUND ON THE CORPSE
During the examinations at the crime scene, drugs were found on the victim, while no mobile phone was discovered.
It was understood that the victim Temur's brother had gone to the police station in Esenler two days before the incident to report his brother missing, stating that he had last left home to go to work and that he could not reach his mobile phone.
Following this, teams that went to the victim's workplace determined that he had gone to a rented house in the Cihangir neighborhood of Beyoğlu by examining security cameras on the streets and avenues.
RETURNED TO THE BUILDING WITH A SUITCASE
Teams that reached the information that the apartment had been rented by Zekeriya T.D. (32) since January 23 found that the victim had not left the building according to the building's security cameras, while the suspect Zekeriya T.D. had left the building and returned with a suitcase, and later left again with the same suitcase, struggling while carrying it.
CONFESSED TO HIS CRIME
Following this, the suspect was taken into custody and brought to the police station. Here, Zekeriya T.D. confessed to his crime, stating that he met the victim Temur through social media, that they met in the rented house to use drugs, and that they later passed out, and when he woke up, Temur was lying motionless.
INTENDED TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE SUICIDE
The suspect stated that when he realized Temur was dead, he got scared and searched for a suitable place to leave the body under the Nurtepe Viaduct, then returned home after buying a suitcase, carried the body under the viaduct in the suitcase and left it there, took the victim's mobile phone with him and turned it off, and left drugs in the victim's pocket to make it look like a suicide.
Zekeriya T.D. stated that he planned the incident this way, noting that he did not think the police would follow him, and declared, "I didn't kill him, he died from drugs." The suspect, whose procedures at the police station were completed, was referred to the courthouse.
