The humanoid robot A2, developed in China, entered the Guinness World Records by walking continuously for 106 kilometers between two cities. A2 completed this challenging journey through difficult terrain and weather conditions thanks to its advanced sensing and balancing systems.

A humanoid robot developed in China has set a new Guinness World Record by walking 106 kilometers non-stop between two cities in the eastern part of the country.

THE JOURNEY LASTED 3 DAYS

The android A2, developed by the Shanghai-based company Agibot, set off from Suzhou on the night of November 10 and reached the Bund area of Shanghai in the early hours of November 13.

Powered by Agibot's fast battery replacement system, the robot traveled a total distance of 106.286 kilometers without shutting down throughout the journey as of Thursday.

Wang Chuang, Agibot's Senior Vice President, stated, "Walking from Suzhou to Shanghai is a challenging task even for many people, but the robot accomplished it."

Wang added, "This proves the maturity of the robot's hardware, cerebellar balance algorithms, and endurance, laying a solid foundation for large-scale commercial use."

ADVANCED SENSING SYSTEMS PROVED USEFUL

Equipped with dual GPS modules, LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging), and infrared depth sensors, the A2 provided stable detection in complex situations such as traffic lights, narrow passages, and crowded sidewalks, both day and night. The robot adhered to traffic rules while navigating asphalt roads, tiled walkways, bridges, tactile curbs, and ramps. Upon arrival in Shanghai, the robot briefly interacted with Xinhua reporters, describing its journey as "an unforgettable experience in machine life." The robot remarked, "I might need new shoes."

The Tien Kung Ultra, produced by the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, had previously completed a 21-kilometer half marathon in 2 hours and 40 minutes in April.
