In the budget discussions of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry at the Planning and Budget Commission of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), CHP deputies entered the hall wearing berets. CHP Malatya Deputy Veli Ağbaba came in with a bag of wheat, while CHP Adana Deputy Ayhan Barut brought cotton and diesel to protest the rising food prices.
In the Planning and Budget Commission of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, the budget discussions of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry began with debates. CHP deputies participated in the discussions wearing caps. CHP Malatya Deputy Veli Ağbaba reacted to food prices, the increasing average age of farmers, and citizens suffering from food poisoning by bringing a bag of wheat into the hall.
COTTON AND DIESEL PROTEST
CHP Adana Deputy Ayhan Barut, while shaking hands with Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı, said, "Mr. Minister, 1 kilogram of cotton used to buy 3 liters of diesel, but now it has completely reversed under the AK Party government."
CHP Çorum Deputy Mehmet Tahtasız, during the handshake, reacted by saying, "The farmers of Çorum send you their regards. They are very happy and peaceful thanks to you because they found the 1 trillion 300 billion lira they will receive from the market."
