Gökhan Böcek, the son of dismissed Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin Böcek, claimed in his testimony under effective remorse that he took 1 million Euros to the CHP headquarters upon the request of CHP Deputy Veli Ağbaba and handed it over. Ağbaba, who filed a criminal complaint regarding the allegations against him, claimed that Böcek said, "Write whatever you want, I will testify; you write, I will sign below," and that he was deliberately included in a baseless fabrication as part of a political operation.

CHP Malatya Deputy Veli Ağbaba filed a criminal complaint regarding the claims in the statement given by Gökhan Böcek, the son of Muhittin Böcek, who was arrested and suspended from his mayoral duties as part of the 'bribery' and 'corruption' investigation into Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, under the scope of effective remorse.

“HE SAID, ‘WRITE WHATEVER YOU WANT, I WILL SIGN IT’”

Ağbaba, a member of CHP, filed a criminal complaint with the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office for 'defamation,' 'insult,' and 'fabrication of a crime.' Regarding the claims in Gökhan Böcek's statement of effective remorse, he stated that he does not know Gökhan Böcek, has never communicated with him via his own phone or any other phone, and only saw him on September 16, 2025, during a visit to his father Muhittin Böcek in prison, with no dialogue before or after that.

Emphasizing that the allegations of demanding money in the statement are completely unfounded and constitute slander, Ağbaba alleged that Gökhan Böcek, in order to end his own detention and alleviate the pressure on him after his wife's arrest following the leak of private video footage to the press, said, 'Write whatever you want, I will give a statement; you write it, and I will sign it.' He claimed that he was deliberately included in a baseless fabrication within a political operation.

Ağbaba requested the court to obtain all GSM and HTS records from the dates mentioned in Böcek's statement and demanded that a public lawsuit be filed for slander and insulting a public official.

WHAT DID GÖKHAN BÖCEK SAY?

In his statement, Böcek claimed that, at Veli Ağbaba's request, he delivered 1 million Euros to a person at CHP headquarters, whom Ağbaba indicated but he did not previously know, on the grounds that this would contribute to his father Muhittin Böcek's candidacy process.

Describing that when he went to the headquarters, he entered by giving his name at the reception, Böcek said, 'They said they were waiting for me upstairs and directly took me to the 6th floor. I met this person on the 6th floor. I handed over the money. The person I gave the money to was 35-40 years old, 1.75-1.80 m tall, dark-skinned, and of average weight. I don't remember if he had an accent. I only saw this person once. My father had previously told me that the headquarters might have financial support requests and to help. Veli Ağbaba had asked me to buy a bus for use during the election period. Then he said they bought this bus. He asked me to provide a donation of 1 million euros. When I asked what the money was for, he said it was on the instruction of Özgür Özel and to think of it as a candidacy fee. Apart from this, he had no other requests from me. I don't know if he had any requests from my father. He didn't tell me anything about this. When I go to Ankara, I usually stay at the Marriott or Sheraton hotels; records from there can be obtained.'
