Mahir Polat, who was arrested as part of the "Terror" investigation conducted against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) and placed under house arrest due to his health condition, has been hospitalized due to cardiovascular diseases and high blood pressure. It has been reported that Polat will stay in the hospital for 2 days, and Ekrem İmamoğlu's wife, Dilek İmamoğlu, and their son, Mehmet Selim İmamoğlu, came to visit him.

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is conducting a "Terror" investigation against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM). Mahir Polat, the Deputy Secretary General of IMM, who was arrested on charges of "aiding an armed terrorist organization" and later placed under house arrest on April 9 by the Istanbul Peace Criminal Court, came to a private hospital in Şişli this morning due to high blood pressure.

Polat, who came to the hospital for routine check-ups, was hospitalized on the advice of his doctor due to his high blood pressure. It was stated that Mahir Polat's health condition is being closely monitored by his doctors, and it was learned that he would stay in the hospital for 2 days as a precaution.

IMAMOGLU'S WIFE AND SON VISITED

Upon learning that Mahir Polat had been taken to the hospital, Dilek İmamoğlu, the wife of the suspended and arrested IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu, and their son Mehmet Selim İmamoğlu also went to the hospital.

HOUSE ARREST DECISION WAS MADE

Mahir Polat was taken to the hospital after falling ill in Silivri's Marmara Prison, where he was detained as part of the investigation. After his treatment, he was sent back to prison. Most recently, Polat was transferred from prison to the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute for evaluation of his health condition, and after being examined there, he was taken back to prison. As part of the investigation, it was decided on April 9 to impose a judicial control measure on Polat in the form of "not leaving his residence."
