In the controversial election held under police blockade in Ataşehir Municipality, CHP's candidate Murat Güneş became the vice president by receiving 22 votes after three rounds.

After the arrest and suspension of CHP's Ataşehir Mayor Onursal Adıgüzel, attention turned to the election of the acting mayor in the municipal council. The long-awaited election has been completed.

ELECTION HELD IN A TENSE ENVIRONMENT

In the election carried out under police blockade and high tension, CHP's candidate Murat Güneş and AK Party's candidate Serdar Orhan competed.

NO RESULT IN THE FIRST TWO ROUNDS

In the first round, out of 36 votes cast, Murat Güneş received 23 and Serdar Orhan received 12. As the required majority was not achieved, the election went to a second round. In the second round, 36 votes were again cast. Murat Güneş received 22 votes and Serdar Orhan received 13 votes. With no result again, the election moved to a third round.
