Details of the messages on the phone surrendered to the prosecutor's office by former CHP Uşak Mayor Özkan Yalım have emerged. According to information obtained from sources within the Ministry of Justice, the investigations uncovered correspondence regarding various irregular attempts to influence the preferences of delegates during the CHP congress process and to generate support in favor of a specific candidate.
Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the Uşak Municipality, significant findings were obtained from the examination of the mobile phone that former Uşak Mayor Özkan Yalım voluntarily handed over by sharing its password, in line with his statements benefiting from the provisions of effective remorse.
According to information obtained from sources at the Ministry of Justice, during the congress process of the Republican People's Party (CHP), correspondences were identified indicating various irregular practices aimed at directing the will of delegates and providing support for specific candidates. The statement said, "In this context, expressions and message contents regarding the provision of employment in municipalities and material opportunities in exchange for securing the support of some delegates have been determined."
HIRINGS MADE TO SECURE DELEGATE VOTES
The statement included the following: "In the statements of suspect Özkan Yalım, information was included that during the process aimed at achieving a change in management in the CHP, hires were made through some municipalities and material support was provided to change the views of delegates. Additionally, in the obtained digital materials, correspondences were identified showing that names of certain individuals considered 'important' by the party's top management were directly conveyed."
"GAVE NUMBERS FOR SUPPORT"
"In the message contents examined within the scope of the investigation, it was observed that some party representatives declared they could provide support from a certain number of delegates, and various requests were conveyed in this context. Among these requests, it has been understood that the condition of placing a party member's disabled relative in a municipal job was also raised."
DIGITAL DATA BEING EXAMINED
"Additionally, in correspondences made after the congress, it was observed that some individuals who played an active role in the process expressed dissatisfaction with the duties and positions assigned to them and made assessments that their expectations were not met. The investigation is ongoing from multiple perspectives, and necessary examinations are being conducted based on the obtained digital data and statements."
"LOOK WHERE THEY DEEMED ME WORTHY"
The messages included statements such as, "Özkan brother, good day. Today, as a university graduate, I was deemed worthy of being a waiter. Primary school graduates became general managers and deputy managers. This party couldn't protect even one of its young people. No one stood behind me whom I worked tirelessly for to make them win. I can sell lemons or wash dishes; I don't mind, but look at the places where they put primary school graduates, look where they deemed me worthy."
