Fatih Erbakan, Chairman of the New Welfare Party, who made assessments on current issues on Haberler.com screens, said regarding the absolute nullity debates in the CHP: 'They need other alliance members to reach 50+1. There is a plan for the DEM Party to join this alliance. That's not enough, so they say let's design our rivals. They want Kılıçdaroğlu, whom they have repeatedly defeated before, against them. I think the likelihood of nullity arising is high.'
A critical stage has been reached in the lawsuit filed regarding the 38th Ordinary Congress of the Republican People's Party, held on November 4-5, 2023, which witnessed a change in party leadership.
While political circles are focused on the upcoming decision, a notable assessment came from Fatih Erbakan, Chairman of the New Welfare Party. Speaking on Haberler.com programs, Erbakan responded to questions from News Director Olgun Kızıltepe and Melis Yaşar, stating that the likelihood of annulment is high.
Here is Erbakan's statement on the matter:
"Of course, the current government, especially Mr. President, naturally wants to maintain its power and aims to win again in these elections. But on the other hand, they see that AK Party votes are around 27-28 percent, and MHP votes are around 6-7 percentage points. Combined, they total about 35 points. To reach 50 plus 1, they need other alliance members. There is a plan to have the DEM Party support this alliance. Let's include the DEM Party too. But that's still not enough. So let's design our opponents. In other words, let's eliminate rivals who could potentially win the election. Let's ensure there are no figures like Mansur Yavaş or Ekrem İmamoğlu who score high in polls.
"THEY WANT KILIÇDAROĞLU AGAINST THEM"
They are inevitably leaning towards political engineering to see Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu—someone we have defeated many times before and who has little chance of beating us in polls—as our opponent. As I said, the most important reason is the serious erosion in their votes and significant public backlash. As the People's Alliance, they want to carry out this design because they think they won't win the election if they face a strong rival.
"LIKELIHOOD OF ANNULMENT DECISION IS HIGH"
And the annulment in this situation would, as I said, be a very favorable outcome for the AK Party and Mr. President. I believe the likelihood of an annulment decision is high.
"ANOTHER PARTY COULD EMERGE FROM CHP"
Another party could emerge from that. Of course, it means splitting the opposition—preventing CHP votes from coming out as a bloc and dividing them. This would also naturally benefit the government. In other words, they have a mindset to determine the election time, conditions, opponent, and candidate, and as we have previously stated, to get through this election with a controlled process. They are conducting simulations regarding this."
