In Iran, where 555 people, including religious leader Khamenei, have lost their lives in the war initiated by the US-Israel, officials have called on the public to gather in squares across the country starting at 8:00 PM this evening. The call is considered to aim both to show support for the regime and to send a message against attempts of internal unrest.

Israel and the United States launched a military attack on Iran on February 28 while negotiations were ongoing between the Tehran and Washington administrations. In response, Iran carried out attacks on targets it identified in several regional countries, including Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain, where U.S. bases are located, in addition to Israel.

555 PEOPLE KILLED INCLUDING KHAMENEI

In the U.S.-Israel attacks, many high-ranking officials were killed, including Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The Iranian Red Crescent announced that 555 people lost their lives in the bombings targeting the country.

IRAN TAKES TO THE STREETS

Following the attacks and deaths, Iran called on its citizens to gather in the main squares of cities across the country and in Tehran's Islamic Revolution Square. It was reported that the programs would start at 8:00 PM.

"GREAT GATHERING" CALL

The statement included, "We call on Iran's noble and martyr-loving nation to a great gathering in the main squares of cities across the country and in Tehran's Islamic Revolution Square."

Officials announced that the events would be held simultaneously across the country, and the program in Tehran would be conducted with the participation of religious delegations.

TWO MESSAGES: SUPPORT AND INTIMIDATION

It is commented that the call aims to show support for the current administration to the international community on one hand, and to send a strong message against possible attempts at unrest domestically on the other.
