The process of determining the new minimum wage, which directly concerns 7 million employees and indirectly affects the entire society, is ongoing. The Minimum Wage Determination Commission, composed of representatives from workers, employers, and the government, held its first meeting on December 10 and its second meeting on December 16 as part of the efforts to determine the minimum wage that will be valid in 2025. The Commission will hold its third meeting on Thursday, December 19, at 11:30 AM, under the chairmanship of the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Vedat Işıkhan. CRITICAL DECISION FROM TÜRK-İŞBefore the meeting, TÜRK-İŞ, representing the worker side in the commission, decided to convene the Board of Presidents. The agenda of the meeting, which will be held at the TÜRK-İŞ General Center, will be the minimum wage. In the meeting chaired by TÜRK-İŞ General President Ergün Atalay, TÜRK-İŞ's stance in the minimum wage negotiations will be discussed. Opinions will be gathered from the managements of the unions affiliated with TÜRK-İŞ regarding the minimum wage. If an agreement cannot be reached in the minimum wage negotiations, the roadmap that the confederation will follow will be determined.
