The Turkish Embassy in Mexico has issued a statement to Turkish citizens regarding the close monitoring of events in the country following an operation conducted by federal security forces.

In a post made on the social media platform of the US-based company X, the embassy stated that developments in the states of Jalisco, Michoacan, Guanajuato, Tamaulipas, Aguas Calientes, and Zacatecas that occurred yesterday are being closely monitored.
The statement emphasized the importance of Turkish citizens being vigilant in light of current developments, paying maximum attention to their security, and following the warnings and guidance of local authorities, and it was reported that they could reach the embassy via the emergency hotline at "+525579177785".
WHAT HAPPENED?
Yesterday, a military operation was carried out by federal security forces against the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) in the town of Tapalpa, located about 130 kilometers south of Guadalajara, the capital of Jalisco state, and it was reported that CJNG leader El Mencho was killed in the clash.
Following the operation, numerous roadblocks and vehicle and business arson incidents occurred in Jalisco and several other states as a possible retaliation by the criminal organization. The Jalisco state government requested the public to stay at home, suspended public transportation, and implemented a "red alert" due to developments threatening public safety. Widespread violence continues to escalate in many states across the country.
