The heavy snowfall that hit Istanbul yesterday continues uninterrupted today in many districts. Experts emphasize that the snowfall will remain effective in the Megacity for another 3 days, warning that "It would be beneficial for schools to remain closed tomorrow." Governor Davut Gül stated that meteorological data will be examined regarding the issue and that a decision will be made by this evening.
After the warnings from the General Directorate of Meteorology that have been ongoing for days, the expected snowfall in Istanbul was effective yesterday, and today many districts are covered with a white blanket.
3-DAY WARNING FROM AKOM FOR ISTANBUL AKOM issued a warning for heavy snowfall in the megacity until Sunday. In the statement, it was noted that "Due to the cold and rainy system expected to be effective in our region throughout the week, temperatures are expected to range between -2 and 3°C. Rainfall, which will be seen today as mixed rain and light snow, is predicted to continue to be effective as heavy and locally intense snow from Friday onwards," was stated. A prediction of heavy snowfall until Sunday was also made in the announcement.

Today and tomorrow; in fact, tomorrow, if our citizens have no work, they should not go outside. There will be icing as temperatures will drop below zero tonight. There will also be snow. If they have to go out, let’s use public transportation. This Sunday, temperatures may drop to -4 or -5.
