The Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar, announced that there will be no increase in electricity and natural gas tariffs until April.
The Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar, responded to the question of whether there will be an increase in electricity and natural gas prices.
Bayraktar stated, "Our goal is to reflect the rising costs on our citizens as little as possible. In this sense, we hope to get through the winter without any price increase or hike in natural gas and electricity for such households. We do not foresee any increase for households until April." he said.
NEW ERA IN ELECTRICITY
Minister Bayraktar was also asked about the regulation regarding citizens whose annual consumption exceeds 5,000 kilowatt-hours and their inability to benefit from the electricity subsidy, as well as criticisms from the opposition.
Bayraktar replied, "What the opposition says is, as always, based on falsehoods and distortions... 1.2 million of the 42 million subscribers will be affected by this regulation. The remaining 40 million 800 thousand subscribers will not see any changes in their lives. Subscribers exceeding 5,000 kilowatt-hours of consumption will be removed from the support scope starting from February 2024." he said.
