The legendary figure of Turkish cinema, Cüneyt Arkın, was commemorated at his grave on the third anniversary of his passing. His wife, Betül Cüreklibatır, and their sons, Murat and Kaan Cüreklibatır, placed flowers on the grave and prayed. Kaan Cüreklibatır's words, "A father is like a tree; even if he is not there, his shade is enough," were touching. Arkın's wish to be buried next to his horse, stating, "I wanted to be buried next to my horse, but I gave up because it might be misunderstood," also came back into the spotlight.
One of Turkey's legendary artists, Cüneyt Arkın, passed away at the age of 85 on June 28, 2022. Arkın is being remembered on the third anniversary of his death. His family held an emotional memorial ceremony at his grave for the unforgettable name of Turkish cinema. His wife Betül Cüreklibatır and their sons Murat and Kaan Cüreklibatır left flowers and prayed at his grave in Zincirlikuyu Cemetery.
His son Kaan Cüreklibatır expressed his longing for his father with the following words, "A father is like a tree; even if he is not there, his shadow is enough! It feels as if he has never left; we are still learning together about flowers, insects, stars, rain, spring flowers, fruit picking, the blessings of bread, loving our mother, swimming, and playing ball."
HIS WILL HAD COME TO LIGHT YEARS AGO
Cüneyt Arkın, known for his love of horses, had made striking statements about his will during a television program he participated in. The famous artist expressed his desire to be buried next to his favorite horse, Hasretim, but he abandoned this idea due to concerns that it might be misunderstood. Arkın had stated his final decision by saying, "Bury me next to my parents."
