16-year-old M.A, who killed her 23-year-old boyfriend Muhammet Varoğlu in Diyarbakır, said, "There were inappropriate images of me that he secretly recorded on his phone. He was threatening to spread them if I broke up with him. I had used drugs. I shot him with my brother's gun." When no images were found on Varoğlu's phone, the court sentenced M.A to 12 years in prison.
A verdict has been reached in the case regarding the murder of 23-year-old Muhammet Varoğlu, who was killed by 16-year-old M.A. in the Bağlar District of Diyarbakır.
"HE WAS THREATENING TO GIVE MY VIDEOS TO MY FAMILY"
M.A., who gave his statement in the presence of a psychologist, explained why he committed the murder. Stating that Muhammet Varoğlu was his boyfriend, M.A. said, "Muhammed had inappropriate videos of me. He was threatening to give these videos to my family if I broke up with him. I had used drugs. Because I was threatened, I took my brother's gun from home and wanted to meet him. My intention in bringing the gun was not to kill him.
"THE GUN FIRED"
We went to my friend's house. There, I told him to delete my videos and pulled out the gun, pointing it at him. He raised his hand and said, 'Okay, stop, I will delete it.' At that moment, the gun fired. I was under the influence of drugs.
"HE MADE CONTACT WITH ME MULTIPLE TIMES"
I had loved him very much. After a week, I realized that his intentions towards me were different. He made contact with me multiple times. He touched my private areas. He secretly took inappropriate photos of me. In the photos, I was not naked, but his private area was exposed.
"HE PRESSURED ME TO HAVE SEX WITH HIM"
He made a proposal to have sex with me. I did not accept. When I refused, he pressured me. He said that if I did not have sex with him, he would spread my videos to my brother and my surroundings. If I had known such a thing would happen, I would not have taken the gun with me. I would have even accepted the publication of the videos; I am very regretful."
NO VIDEOS WERE FOUND ON HIS PHONE
In the expert report prepared regarding the phone examination, it was found that M.A.'s phone contained obscene images, but it was determined that there were messages registered as "My Queen" on the deceased's phone, and all messages had been deleted and could not be recovered.
THE LIFE SENTENCE WAS REDUCED TO 12 YEARS
According to a report by Sözcü; the court stated that there were no sexual content images belonging to M.A. on the deceased's phone. The court panel sentenced M.A. to life imprisonment, which was then reduced to 12 years due to being in the age group of 15-18. Additionally, he was sentenced to 8 months in prison for the unlicensed gun used in the murder, and it was decided that his detention status would continue.
