The TFF Arbitration Board reduced the 4-match ban imposed on Fenerbahçe's head coach Jose Mourinho to 2 matches. The board upheld the 1-match ban for Galatasaray's head coach Okan Buruk, but reduced the monetary fine from 1.5 million TL to 500,000 TL, stating that "there is no reason to impose a penalty at the upper limit in determining the monetary fine."
According to the statement made by the TFF, the Disciplinary Committee reduced the 4-match ban given to Jose Mourinho to 2 matches. The 1-match ban for Galatasaray's head coach Okan Buruk has been upheld.
In the statement made on the TFF's official website, the following expressions were used:
"The appeal of Jose Mario Dos Santos Mourinho Felix, the Technical Responsible of Fenerbahçe Football Inc., regarding the decision of the PFDK dated 27.02.2025 and numbered E.2024-2025/812 – K.2024-2025/1036 was examined. As a result of the discussions;
It was understood that there was no reason to deviate from the lower limit in determining the penalty for Jose Mario Dos Santos Mourinho Felix, the Technical Responsible of Fenerbahçe Football Inc., due to his unsportsmanlike conduct towards the match referee, and therefore, the decision to impose a ban on entering the locker room and the bench for 2 official matches and a fine of 117,000.00 TL was corrected and upheld as a result of the discretion of the penalty under Article 36/1-a of the FDT, resulting in a ban on entering the locker room and the bench for 1 match and a fine of 58,500.00 TL, unanimously.
It has been decided unanimously to correct and uphold the decision of the PFDK regarding the penalty imposed on Jose Mario Dos Santos Mourinho Felix, the Technical Responsible of Fenerbahçe Football Inc., for his statements against sports ethics and fair play understanding towards the members of the opposing team, which included a ban on entering the locker room and the bench for 2 official matches and a fine of 1,500,000.00 TL; since there was no reason to deviate from the lower limit in determining the penalty for the ban on entering the locker room and the bench, and there was no situation that would require the penalty to be determined from the upper limit regarding the fine, the decision was corrected and upheld as a result of the discretion of the penalty under Article 38/1-c of the FDT, resulting in a ban on entering the locker room and the bench for 1 official match and a fine of 500,000.00 TL, unanimously."
