The former Mayor of Istanbul, Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is in custody, and the other defendants held in the corruption case have had their detention continued.

The detention of 402 individuals, including Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was removed from office as part of a corruption investigation, has been decided to continue.

An indictment was prepared by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office as part of the investigation. The indictment states that Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu is in detention, and the 'Corruption' investigation has been completed.

REQUEST FOR UP TO 2,352 YEARS IN PRISON

The prepared indictment includes Ekrem İmamoğlu and 402 suspects, 105 of whom are in detention. The indictment requests that İmamoğlu be punished for 142 separate crimes, using the phrases "founder and leader of the organization." A prison sentence of 828 to 2,352 years is sought for İmamoğlu for 142 separate actions.

COURT DECISION TO CONTINUE DETENTION

The Istanbul 40th Heavy Penal Court has decided to continue the detention of Presidential Candidate and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who has been detained at the Marmara Prison in Silivri since March 23, along with 401 others.
