The photo taken in the office of the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly, Numan Kurtulmuş, has caused a significant stir in the public. İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu, who is featured in the photo, responded to the criticisms directed at him. Dervişoğlu stated, "It seems that the President was not aware of the surgeries I underwent one after another and wanted to wish me well. They are talking about a summit on television. If this is called a summit, then it is nonsense."

The Chairman of the İYİ Party, Müsavat Dervişoğlu, attended the funeral ceremony held at the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) for Ökkeş Şendiller, the Nationalist Action Party's 19th Term Kahramanmaraş Deputy, who passed away yesterday in the hospital where he was being treated for illness.

After the ceremony, Dervişoğlu answered questions from the press regarding the deceased Şendiller, stating, "He was a very old friend of mine, we have a friendship and a struggle history of half a century, he was a friend who suited him well. It was an unexpected death. I pray for mercy from Allah for the late Şendiller, and I express my condolences to his grieving family."

"THE PRESIDENT WAS NOT AWARE THAT I HAD SURGERY"

In response to a question about the gathering of the political party leaders and deputies represented in the Assembly, including President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and TBMM President Numan Kurtulmuş, in the Presidential Board room behind the General Assembly hall after yesterday's opening session of the new legislative year, Dervişoğlu replied: "I saw some speculative things both on television and social media. I had surgery on my nose and previously had a bypass surgery on my leg, and then I had another surgery. We do not inform everyone when we have surgery. The President was not aware of it either. Since the President was not aware of my condition, he did not want to say get well soon to me. In the room behind the General Assembly of the Presidency, we conveyed our get well wishes to each other among all political parties and dozens of deputies. They are talking about a summit on television. If such a meeting is called a summit, it is nonsense. This is something that should not exist in Turkish politics.

"WE ALL EXPRESS THAT WE ARE UNCOMFORTABLE WITH THE POLARIZATION"

Of course, I would meet with the President and all the leaders of the political parties within civilized limits. All political leaders should do this as well. We all express that we are uncomfortable with the polarization in Turkish politics. These ceremonies eliminate the negative aspects related to polarization and reduce political tension. Are there those who organize this? Of course, there are. There are certainly those who are trying to take advantage of this. They do not benefit us.

There is nothing strange about meeting with the President of the Republic of Turkey and the leaders of the political parties in the TBMM. As long as you do not change your opinions and do not try to market yourself, these are normal things. But if it is intended to dominate politics with the notion that they are seeking political gain and future from such environments, we will not come to that.
