The name of journalist Mirgün Sırrı Cabas was among those for whom an arrest warrant was issued in a drug investigation targeting famous figures. Cabas, stating that he had lost his father yesterday and was in Izmir for the funeral, made his first statement regarding the investigation.
Within the scope of a drug investigation conducted by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in Istanbul targeting celebrities, detention and arrest warrants were issued for many famous names.
While simultaneous operations were carried out in Istanbul and Muğla by the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command, many individuals were detained. It was noteworthy that journalist Mirgün Sırrı Cabas was among those for whom an arrest warrant was issued as part of the operation.
“I LOST MY FATHER YESTERDAY”
Following these developments, Mirgün Sırrı Cabas made a statement on his social media account. Cabas, stating that he was in Izmir due to his father's passing, used the following expressions:
“I learned this morning from the press that my name is mentioned in an investigation. I lost my father yesterday, I am in Izmir for my father's funeral. My lawyers are in contact with the investigation authorities, and I will take necessary action once I have information. Don't worry.”
ARREST WARRANT FOR 11 NAMES
It was learned that proceedings were initiated against a total of 25 individuals within the scope of the investigation. While 14 people were detained in the operation, arrest warrants were issued for 11 individuals who were abroad or not at their addresses.
Among the names for whom arrest warrants were issued were Serenay Sarıkaya, Berkay Şahin, Tan Taşçı, Yağmur Ünal, Hakan Aydın (Blok 3), Niran Ünsal, and Mirgün Sırrı Cabas.
WHO IS MİRGÜN CABAS?
Mirgün Sırrı Cabas was born on June 6, 1971, in Izmir. A graduate of Ankara University Faculty of Communication, Cabas has taken part in many important projects throughout his career in journalism and television. Cabas, who has a daughter named Leyla from his relationship with journalist Evrim Sümer in 2010, had a son named Civan Mert from his marriage to actress Tuba Ünsal in 2013.
