"CONTINUING SEARCH OPERATIONS IS RISKY"

This morning, we observed that a very high-risk operation was being conducted. Despite the risk, the operator's lifeless body was reached. The teams checked how far they could enter in the morning, and it was observed that the mass was in motion. The occupational safety experts responsible for the work, geological engineers, and representatives from the municipality, environmental engineering, and AFAD informed us that the work could not be carried out due to this risk and that it would not be appropriate to do so, and they documented this situation. We have also halted the effort to reach the truck driver based on their opinion," he said.

"THREE SEPARATE MASSES IN MOTION"

Governor Erol stated, "Upon the instruction of our esteemed Minister of Interior, a team from AFAD is coming to our province to guide the assessments on how the next phase should be carried out. The next phase of this work will be conducted based on the methods and paths suggested by those who know how to do this work. We will wait until then, but I believe this period will not be long." He emphasized that there are three separate masses moving independently, stating, "If there had been any rainfall, more tragic events could have occurred."
