In the Manavgat district of Antalya, 5 people, including 3 children from the same family, who lost their lives when their vehicle plunged into a ravine yesterday, were buried in their hometown of Konya after the funeral prayer.
In the accident that occurred yesterday on the Manavgat-Derebucak road, 5 people from the same family lost their lives and 2 were injured when the car rolled down a cliff approximately 150 meters. Those who lost their lives in the horrific accident were bid farewell with tears in Konya today.
THEY ROLLED DOWN THE CLIFF
The horrific accident occurred yesterday morning in the Beydiğin neighborhood of the Taşağıl-Derebucak road in the Manavgat district. According to the information obtained, the vehicle with license plate 42 AKL 36, driven by Erol Arslan (48), went out of control after the driver lost control of the steering wheel and rolled down a cliff approximately 150 meters. Upon the notification of those nearby, numerous health, fire, AFAD, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the area.
5 PEOPLE DIED AT THE SCENE
In the examinations conducted by the teams arriving at the scene, it was determined that the driver Erol Arslan, his wife Ayla Arslan (46), his daughter İlayda Arslan (15), his other daughter Ebrar Arslan (12), and his 4-year-old grandson Metehan Uğurlu died at the scene.
PREGNANT WOMAN TAKEN TO HOSPITAL BY AMBULANCE
In the accident, the injured parties, Erol Arslan's son-in-law Abdurrahman Uğurlu (28) and his daughter Hatice Uğurlu (23), who was reported to be pregnant, were taken to the hospital by ambulance after their initial interventions.
BURIALS CONDUCTED
The bodies of Erol Arslan, his wife Ayla, their children İlayda and Ebrar Arslan, and grandson Metehan Uğurlu, who died in the accident, were brought to their hometown of Konya. Following the funeral prayer performed after the noon prayer at the Aliyenler Cemetery in the central Karatay district, the bodies of the five were laid to rest with prayers. At the ceremony, relatives of the Arslan and Uğurlu families shed tears.
It was learned that Ebrar Arslan, one of the deceased, had a birthday two days later.
