Development to solve the delicate murder: Turkey requested data from META

Turkey mourned Narin Güran, whose lifeless body was found 19 days after she went missing. It was learned that Turkey took action for the deleted Wats App records of her uncle Salim Güran, who was arrested as part of the investigation into the case.

SAD NEWS AFTER 19 DAYS

The sad news that plunged all of Turkey into mourning came today. The lifeless body of Narin Güran, who had been searched thoroughly in Diyarbakır for 19 days, was found in a previously searched stream. As part of the investigation conducted by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 23 people, including her mother, father, 2 brothers, 3 uncles, and the wife of her uncle Salim Güran, who was arrested on September 2, were taken into custody. The suspects are still being processed by the gendarmerie. It was stated that one of the two brothers who were taken into custody earlier, E.G. (18), was released after it was determined that the bite mark on his arm did not belong to Narin Güran in the procedures carried out at the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute.

HER OLDER BROTHER WAS INITIALLY TAKEN INTO CUSTODY

The first person to be taken into custody regarding the disappearance of 8-year-old Narin was her older brother, but he was released shortly after. The older brother was taken into custody due to the bite marks on his arm. Samples of the jaw structure obtained from photos of Narin were sent to the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute for comparison. However, no evidence could be obtained regarding who the bite mark belonged to. The older brother was released as a result.

NARIN'S UNCLE WAS ARRESTED

On the 11th day of the search efforts for missing Narin, news of a new detention had emerged. Narin's uncle and also the muhtar (headman) of Tavşantepe Neighborhood, Salim Güran, was taken into custody. Salim Güran was arrested by the court. The reasons given for the arrest in court were deprivation of liberty and intentional killing.

UNCLE'S DELETED WATS APP RECORDS REQUESTED FROM META

A new development occurred in the trial investigation where the uncle was detained. It was determined that the uncle Salim Güran had deleted all Wats App conversations. Journalist Özlem Gürses announced that Turkey had contacted META for the deleted records. Gürses stated on her social media account, "Turkey has talked to Meta. It seems that finding all the conversations that the uncle destroyed and deleted in Narin's murder is a matter of time... Apparently, the file will be significantly clarified by Tuesday."

WHAT HAPPENED?

Narin Güran, 8 years old, went missing on August 21 after going to a Quran course in Tavşantepe Neighborhood in Bağlar district. When she did not return home after the course, her family searched for her on their own, and when they could not find her, Narin's father, Arif Güran, reported her missing on the same day around 8:00 pm. As a result, numerous search and rescue teams were dispatched to the area, and searches were conducted in houses in the neighborhood and vehicles entering the village.

While the search efforts were ongoing, E.G. (18), Narin Güran's brother, was taken into custody due to the bite marks on his arm. After the examination at the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute, E.G. was released when it could not be determined whether the bite marks belonged to Narin or not.

Then, Narin's uncle, who is also the muhtar of rural Tavşantepe Neighborhood, Salim Güran, was taken into custody. Salim Güran, whose DNA samples taken from his vehicle matched the DNA samples on Narin's clothes, was arrested on charges of "intentional killing" and "deprivation of liberty."

Teams, who focused on previously searched areas again, conducted a search in Eğertutmaz Stream, 2 kilometers away from the neighborhood, and found Narin's lifeless body on the 19th day. It was determined that Narin was thrown into the stream with a sack after being killed and covered with stones.
