The ongoing referee debates in Turkish football have also reached the Parliament. AK Party Rize MP Harun Mertoğlu stated, "Çaykur Rizespor's efforts were seized on the field by scandalous referee decisions," while calling for the resignation of the Turkish Football Federation (TFF). Meanwhile, İYİ Party Istanbul MP Burak Akburak expressed, "There should also be a foreign referee application for the central referees."
Discussions about referee decisions in football have also reached the Parliament. Speaking in the General Assembly of the Parliament, AK Party Rize Deputy Harun Mertoğlu stated that Çaykur Rizespor's efforts were robbed on the field by scandalous referee decisions and called for the resignation of the Turkish Football Federation and the Central Referee Board.
"SUCCESS CANNOT BE ACHIEVED WITHOUT JUSTICE IN FOOTBALL"
According to Gazeteduvar's news, Mertoğlu, who sought an answer to the question "Why is Rizespor's right not being delivered?", exclaimed, "Is football only played for big teams? If justice is not served on the field, there will be no trust in that league. We call on the entire football community to stand against injustice. Çaykur Rizespor is not alone. Success cannot be achieved without justice in football. Enough, stop it already," he protested.
"LET'S HAVE FOREIGN REFEREES AS CENTER REFEREES TOO"
İYİ Party Istanbul Deputy Burak Akburak also stated that the tolerance for referee mistakes has now exceeded its limits, saying, "As the management of referees moves away from justice, trust in Turkish football is rapidly eroding. It is not possible to complete this season healthily in this way. My call to the TFF is clear and straightforward: since a foreign referee application has been implemented in the VAR system, then take the same step and let there be a foreign referee application for center referees as well."
