The Presidency's Communication Directorate's Disinformation Combat Center stated that the claim "the statements in the MASAK report contain disinformation based on incomplete information" is not true.
The statement made by the Presidency of Communications' Disinformation Combat Center (DMM) on its social media account indicated that the claim stating "the expressions in the report of the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) contain disinformation based on incomplete information" does not reflect the truth.
"PREPARED BASED ON OBJECTIVE AND QUANTITATIVE FINANCIAL DATA"
It was noted that the reports of MASAK regarding the corruption and terrorism investigation initiated against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) were prepared based on objective and quantitative financial data, primarily including bank and tax records.
"IT IS A NATURAL NECESSITY"
The statement reminded that it is a legal obligation for collections exceeding a certain amount (30,000 TL as of November 30, 2024) to be made through intermediary financial institutions, and included the following expressions: "Municipal companies are required to make their collections within the framework of the relevant legislation through the financial system. Collections not made through the financial system may be seen by MASAK as incomplete collections and reported as 'the source of the difference is unknown,' which is a natural necessity. Please do not trust manipulative news targeting the reputation of public institutions and officials."
