An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attacked the Turkish-flagged dry cargo ship MV Gulluk off the coast of Russia's Novorossiysk port. No casualties were reported in the incident, and the ship set course for Istanbul. This has been recorded as the second attack on Turkish ships since last week, and it is believed that Ukraine carried out the attacks.

It was learned that the drone hit the ship's living quarters, and there were no casualties or injuries. It was stated that the ship set course for Istanbul for damage assessment and repairs.
The MV Güllük ship, built in 2002, was used in international transportation.
CRITICAL WARNING FROM THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS The Ministry of Foreign Affairs had expressed serious concern over the escalation of the conflict in the Black Sea following Ukraine's attacks on the ships Nadezhda and Yaşar near Novorossiysk on August 3. The Ministry warned that if measures are not taken to contain the conflict, serious consequences could arise, including food security.

The crew, noticing the aircraft approaching the ship, panicked greatly. At that moment, one of those on board was heard shouting, "Brother, it will hit from the bow, take cover." The moments when the crew tracked the drones and tried to move to a safe area were recorded on a mobile phone camera.
DRONE ATTACK WAS CARRIED OUT Again, last week, a drone attack was carried out on a Turkish ship in the Black Sea. A fire broke out after a drone attack on the Turkish-owned Ro-ro ship named NADHEZNA, which was carrying fresh fruits and vegetables from Turkey to Russia. In a statement made by the General Directorate of Maritime Affairs (DGM), it was stated that the Ro-Ro ship named NADEZHDA, which was sailing from Novorossiysk Port to Samsun, was attacked by a drone, and the following statements were included:
"On August 3, 2026, information was received that the Ro-Ro ship named NADEZHDA, which was sailing from Novorossiysk Port to Samsun, was attacked by a drone approximately 20 nautical miles off Novorossiysk.
There are a total of 22 crew members on board, 13 of whom are Turkish citizens. According to preliminary assessments, damage occurred in the ship's living quarters and bow section, and a fire is ongoing on the ship. As a result of the communication with MRCC Novo, it was learned that the seafarers on board were safely evacuated to Novorossiysk Port by Russian naval elements. According to initial information, it was reported that the health condition of 3 personnel could be serious. The fire on the ship is ongoing, and due to the continuing risk of drone attacks in the region, a rescue operation cannot be carried out. Developments regarding the issue are being closely followed, and we convey our well wishes to all our seafarers and hope they return to their families in good health as soon as possible."
