In the evening hours, the rain that was effective in the İskenderun and Payas districts of Hatay turned the roads into lakes. Due to the heavy rainfall, vehicles were submerged in the roads that became lakes, causing disruptions in transportation.
The General Directorate of Meteorology issued a warning for heavy rainfall in the districts of Iskenderun and Payas in Hatay, where heavy rain has negatively affected life since the evening hours.
VEHICLES STRANDED ON ROADS TURNED INTO PONDS
As the intensity of the rainfall increased in the districts of Payas and Iskenderun, the streets and avenues turned into ponds. Due to the flooding, vehicles stranded on the submerged roads struggled to move forward. While traffic disruptions occurred in the districts with heavy rainfall, some vehicles were also left stranded on the road.
DIFFICULT MOMENTS EXPERIENCED BY CITIZENS CAPTURED ON CAMERA
Citizens tried to take precautions against the floodwaters with their own means. The difficult moments experienced by citizens due to the heavy rainfall were captured on mobile phone cameras. It was reported that teams continued their work in the area.

Yücel Er stated that the 2 hours of rain in the city negatively affected life, saying, "This place has received rain for about the last 2 hours. During this 2-hour period, many roads have been blocked and flooding occurred. The roads we could walk on have been significantly restricted. This has also become a problem for us. Weather conditions can vary here. Despite the 2 hours of rain, there were significant amounts of water overflowing onto the sidewalks. The water had risen to a level where it was impossible to walk, and it was quite dirty. We had to take a detour of about 2 kilometers to reach our destination. While rain is a good thing for the region, it is not pleasant for such a beautiful thing to turn into such a troublesome problem," he expressed.
