In a statement made by the Batman Municipality, which was assigned by the Ministry of Interior on November 4, 2024, it was stated that irregularities were detected in the hiring processes of the 112 individuals recently employed by the municipality's companies.
INVESTIGATION INTO "PIRATE ADVERTISEMENT" BY THE MUNICIPALITY
In the statement, it was noted that it was determined that 192 individuals were hired at different times by Batman Municipality Personnel Inc. and Belkent Inc. since the local elections on March 31, 2024. It was stated, "It has been understood that in the hiring processes of these 192 individuals, the provisions of the Regulation on the Procedures and Principles to be Applied in the Recruitment of Workers in Public Institutions and Organizations were not followed, and a personnel recruitment announcement was made to the Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR). In this context, a one-day 'pirate advertisement' was made through İŞKUR, and applications were received for 121 personnel, and 121 candidates were determined through a so-called interview, resulting in 113 individuals starting work at Personnel Inc. Additionally, 79 personnel were employed at Belkent Inc. without any announcement being made." it was reported.
CONTRACTS OF 112 INDIVIDUALS TERMINATED
In the statement, it was reported that the individuals hired were employed without complying with the "Procedures and Principles Regarding the Provision of Services Based on the Employment of Personnel by Provincial Special Administrations, Municipalities, and Their Affiliated Institutions and Local Government Unions," and without conducting the necessary security and archive investigations. The statement noted: Among the personnel who started work, it was determined that there were individuals with criminal records for offenses such as terrorism, sexual harassment, smuggling obscene publications involving children, drug trafficking, corruption in tenders, and theft. Due to the irregularities mentioned above in the hiring processes, the employment contracts of a total of 112 individuals in Personnel Inc. and Belkent Inc. have been terminated.
