Christians living in the Samandağ district of Hatay celebrated Easter with a ceremony they organized. Prayers were recited, hymns were sung, and the joy of the holiday was experienced during the service held at St. Thecla Church. Hatay Metropolitan Mayor Mehmet Öntürk also attended the celebrations.

CANDLES WERE LIT AND PRAYERS WERE READ
During the ceremony led by the church priest Abdullah Yumurta, the church choir sang hymns and lit candles to pray. At the end of the ceremony, where fireworks were also displayed, citizens celebrated each other's holiday by clashing painted eggs.
MAYOR ALSO ATTENDED
Hatay Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mehmet Öntürk and Samandağ Mayor Emrah Karaçay also attended the celebrations to congratulate the citizens on their holiday.
