Seçkin described her trauma with the words, "We returned to Istanbul from Mersin early in the morning. I was also caught off guard by the earthquake while sleeping at home. We were very scared. The awards I had collected over the years were broken, and my heart was broken too."

A 6.2 magnitude earthquake occurred off the coast of Silivri in the Sea of Marmara yesterday. The tremor, which lasted about 13 seconds, caused panic in Istanbul and its surroundings.
