The 6.2 magnitude earthquake that occurred off the coast of Silivri yesterday caused great panic in Istanbul and its surroundings. Singer Ece Seçkin shared her fear during the earthquake and the damage to her home on social media. Seçkin described her trauma with the words, "We returned to Istanbul from Mersin early in the morning. I was also caught off guard by the earthquake while sleeping at home. We were very scared. The awards I had collected over the years were broken, and my heart was broken too."
A 6.2 magnitude earthquake occurred off the coast of Silivri in the Sea of Marmara yesterday. The tremor, which lasted about 13 seconds, caused panic in Istanbul and its surroundings. Following the earthquake, numerous aftershocks were recorded in the region. Many posts were shared on social media after the events, and the emotional post by famous singer Ece Seçkin drew attention. In addition to sharing the fear she experienced during the earthquake, Seçkin also revealed the damage that occurred in her home.
The singer stated that some of the music awards in her home fell and broke during the tremor. Seçkin shared images of her shattered awards, expressing the fear she experienced. She added the following note to her post: "In the early morning, our team returned to our homes in Istanbul from Mersin. I was also caught sleeping at home during the earthquake. We were very scared... I am grateful that there were no casualties and I wish a speedy recovery to everyone affected by the earthquake. This glass showcase was specially designed by my architect for the awards I cherish like my own eyes."
