The General Directorate of Meteorology has issued yellow and orange alerts for many of our cities, while holiday news has also started to come in. Schools in 27 cities affected by snowfall will be closed on Monday, November 25. In some provinces and districts, transportation-based education has been suspended.
Due to heavy snowfall, schools have been closed in the provinces of Nevşehir, Kayseri, and Niğde, as well as in the Tufanbeyli district of Adana.
SNOW CHAINS IN THE COUNTRY
Rainy and snowy weather has affected almost the entire country. While many cities are experiencing snow chains, news of school closures has started to come in.
SCHOOLS CLOSED IN 4 PROVINCES
Due to the heavy snowfall that started to be effective in Nevşehir, Kayseri, and Niğde during the night hours, and the risk of blizzards and icing, education and training were suspended for 1 day on Monday, November 25. In Adana, due to the heavy snowfall and the possibility of icing in the Tufanbeyli district, education and training were also suspended for 1 day on Monday, November 25. Additionally, schools in village schools in Feke and Saimbeyli districts of Adana were also closed.
YELLOW AND ORANGE WARNINGS FOR 53 CITIES
The General Directorate of Meteorology also made a statement. Meteorology issued an orange alert for 19 provinces and a yellow alert for 34 provinces today. The provinces under warning are as follows:
