After the arrest of CHP's Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer and the appointment of a trustee in his place, CHP and the DEM Party held a rally in Esenyurt. In his speech at the rally, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu stated, "I will deal with you. You will not bend the wrist that you couldn't defeat in the elections even by bans, arrests, or trustees, not even a millimeter."

The CHP's Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer was arrested on charges of membership in a terrorist organization, and after that, a trustee was appointed in his place. Following this, the CHP and the DEM Party held a joint rally in Esenyurt Republic Square.

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel had invited all Istanbul residents to Esenyurt today at 16:00 after the arrest of Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer on charges of membership in a terrorist organization. Many party members who responded to Özel's call gathered in Esenyurt Republic Square. The public meeting was not attended by Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş, Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan, and Afyonkarahisar Mayor Burcu Köksal from the CHP. İBB President Ekrem İmamoğlu, who addressed the crowd at the rally, drew attention with his statement, "I will deal with you," while clenching his fist.

"THEY WILL BE LEFT UNDER THIS SHAMEFUL PRACTICE"

İmamoğlu reacted strongly to Ahmet Özer's arrest, stating, "Unfortunately, we are faced with a government that chases after another dark move every day. They arrested a professor raised in this country, whom I have known for many years, on fabricated grounds and entrusted Esenyurt to a trustee. Since March 31, haven’t they always used the same practices, taking back what they lost at the ballot box through the judiciary? They want to put pressure on the people from today to win the upcoming election. You will not succeed. They will be left under this shameful practice they carry out under the guise of law," he said.

İmamoğlu continued his speech as follows:

"A LIE EVERY DAY"

In a conversation that took place among the resolution process delegation, it was mentioned that our president Ahmet's name was mentioned in the meeting held in Imralı, so he must be a terrorist. If he is a terrorist who strives to contribute to the resolution process, what will we do with the public officials who initiated that process? It seems that it was different then and different today. We are faced with a mind that twists and turns everything to suit its own interests, passing each day with a lie. Anyone who has not rented their mind and conscience to another knows that this is a political operation.

"FOR GOD'S SAKE, WHAT IS THE FOOLISH CASE?"

It is Ekrem İmamoğlu's duty to defend the rights of whoever holds them. Hasn't this brother of yours been dealing with their slanders and fabricated inspections for 6 years? For God's sake, what is the foolish case? There is no such law. First, prove that you are a government that respects the will of the people that comes out of the ballot box. Is there anything greater than love in the world? Don’t we say, 'We love the created for the sake of the Creator'? They are far from the teachings in these lands.

"I WILL DEAL WITH YOU"

I promise from here that I will deal with you. We will escalate the fight against this evil. We will never be spectators to the corruption of the Republic and democracy. Do you see this wrist? You will not bend this wrist that you cannot break in elections even a millimeter with bans and trustees. We do not seek the solution to our problems through secret calculations; we seek it in our common values. We seek to deliver everyone's rights to them. In Esenyurt, we opened both of our hands to our brothers without hiding. We did not hide a secret contract in one hand and the stick of threats and blackmail in the other, not just with our Kurdish citizens but with all our brothers."
