Enes Batur, who has an arrest warrant issued as part of a drug investigation, was detained by gendarmerie at Istanbul Airport while entering Turkey from abroad.
The Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had initiated an investigation for the crimes of "manufacturing and trafficking of narcotic or stimulant substances," "facilitating the use of narcotic or stimulant substances," and "purchasing, accepting, or possessing narcotic or stimulant substances for personal use or using narcotic or stimulant substances." Enes Batur, for whom an arrest warrant was issued, was detained at Istanbul Airport.
HE HAD SAID, "I WILL RETURN TO MY COUNTRY"
In a statement on his social media account regarding the arrest warrant, Batur said, "I have been abroad for 25 days to shoot a series of videos for content production on social media, which has no relation to the ongoing investigation and was planned in advance. At the end of this process, I will return to my country as planned. I am ready to respond within the legal framework and to show the necessary cooperation."
