WHO IS ERCAN SAATÇİ?

Ercan Saatçi, who made a mark in the 90s with his songs, was born on March 13, 1968, in Istanbul. While studying at Haydarpaşa High School, he took violin lessons from Sabri Süha Ansen.

In 1988, while he was a student in the Double Bass Department of the Istanbul Technical University Turkish Music State Conservatory, he qualified to participate in the TRT Eurovision finals. That same year, he won the inter-university music competition held at the ITU campuses with his song "Her Name Is N.G." In 1990, while Özdemir Erdoğan won first place in the TRT Golden Antenna Young Composers Competition, Saatçi came in third. After this competition, the group Izel-Çelik-Ercan was formed.

In 1990, he formed a group called Grup Vitamin and released 2 albums with them. After Çelik Erişçi left the group in 1992, he released the album "İşte Yeniden" as Izel-Ercan in 1993. To date, he has written nearly 600 song lyrics and composed and arranged over 400 pieces. Ercan Saatçi left Doğan Music Company (DMC) and established his own company called Rec by Saatchi.

Between 2003-2004, he served as a jury member in the competitions Popstar and Türkstar; in 2006, he was a jury member in Star Avı, and in 2008, he participated as a jury member in the Alaturka Solist competitions.
