A response has been received to President Erdogan's call for normalization with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. In a statement made at the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was emphasized that the normalization of relations between the two countries depends on returning to the situation before 2011, and it is necessary for it to be based on clear foundations in order to achieve the desired results in the fight against terrorist groups that threaten the security of both countries and the withdrawal of illegal forces from Syrian territories.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Syria responded to the "normalization of relations" call from Turkey. The statement emphasized that the normalization of relations between the two countries depends on returning to the pre-2011 situation, which is the basis of security, safety, and stability, and stated that "desired results in the fight against terrorist groups that threaten the security of Syria and Turkey should be based on clear foundations."
SURİYE RESPONDS TO ERDOĞAN'S NORMALIZATION CALL
President Erdoğan recently made a call to Bashar al-Assad to normalize relations with Syria, and the expected response came from Syria. The statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Syria emphasized that they welcomed the "normalization" call.
"WE ARE WILLING TO IMPROVE THE SITUATION"
The statement included the following expressions: "The Syrian Arab Republic always makes a clear distinction between the policies and practices of governments that harm the people on one side and Syria and its countries on the other, and this has been proven by facts and events. The Syrian Arab Republic has always believed that the interests of states are based on healthy relations rather than conflict or hostility. In this context, Syria has been willing to positively approach various initiatives put forward to improve the situation.
In the same context, Syria has considered the initiatives to improve Syria-Turkey relations and believes that the result of these initiatives should be a path that is based on existing realities and specific principles that regulate the relations between the two countries, and that is aimed at countering everything that threatens their security and stability and serves the common interests of the two countries and peoples, based on sovereignty, independence, and respect for territorial integrity."

He will meet with his counterparts in order to overcome this estrangement and start a new process."
