Erdoğan: The journey on the Aydın-Denizli highway, which currently takes 2 hours, will take 1 hour.

President Erdoğan made important statements at the opening ceremony of the Aydın-Denizli Highway. He stated that the travel time between Aydın and Denizli, which currently takes up to 2 hours, will be reduced to under 1 hour with the new highway. Erdoğan said, "The travel time from Aydın to Denizli via the state road is becoming equal. We will save 6.4 billion lira in time and 1 billion lira in fuel. Providing high-standard access to tourism centers such as Pamukkale, Ephesus, Didim, and Kuşadası and shortening the travel time will allow visitors to spend their time more efficiently." In his speech at the ceremony, Erdoğan also reacted to criticisms regarding transportation investments, stating, "I have a couple of words for those who criticize our investments. There is not only a difference in vision between us, but also a difference in intention, understanding, and mentality."

"With the Aydın-Denizli highway, which we officially opened today, we are expanding our road network a little more. Our Aydın-Denizli highway, consisting of 140 km of main road and 23 km of connecting road, has a total length of 163 km. It includes 61 bridges with a length of 5,712 meters, 19 overpasses, 11,672 meters of 18 viaducts, 30 overpasses, and 5 highway service facilities. We opened 93 kilometers of it on November 3, 2023. We also put the 70 km section into service on October 17, 2024. The second phase, which was opened on October 17, started from Kuyucak and ended in Aydın, passing through the Köşk districts. Now we are officially offering all sections of the highway to the benefit of Aydın and the entire Aegean Region. The travel time, which takes up to 2 hours, is reducing to under 1 hour. We will save 6.4 billion lira in time and 1 billion lira in fuel. We will have reduced carbon emissions by 61 tons."
