The head coach of the Turkish National Team and Panathinaikos, Ergin Ataman, made striking statements regarding Fenerbahçe's decision not to send players to the national team.

Ataman said, "I don't care, I am the national team coach. My bosses are the Turkish Basketball Federation and the Turkish State. I continue to do my job, and I believe that all players in Turkey love to play for the national team. Additionally, playing for the national team is very important. Other things do not concern me.
