EURO 2020: Azerbaijan To Apply 50% Stadium Attendance Limit

68,700 seat Baku Olympic Stadium to have 50% venue attendance limit in EURO 2020, Azerbaijani football body says.

The UEFA EURO 2020 matches in Azerbaijan's Baku Olympic Stadium will be played with 50% of the total fan capacity in attendance.
The Azerbaijani football body (AFFA) said in a statement that a 50% capacity of the 68,700-seat Baku Olympic Stadium would be available for the fans for each of the four EURO 2020 matches in 2021 summer, fulfilling the COVID-19 procedures.
It added that the decision concerns both local and international fans and all essential information was sent to the European football's governing body, UEFA.
Baku will host the Turkish national football team's two group matches during the EURO 2020, which is a pan-European football championship.
The Group A matches, Turkey-Wales on June 16 and Switzerland-Turkey on June 20, will be played at the Baku Olympic Stadium.
The EURO 2020 was previously moved to 2021 for health reasons, so that the European football contest will be held from June 11 to July 11.
The tournament's opening match will be between Turkey and Italy on June 11 in Rome's Olympic Stadium.
Twelve cities, Amsterdam, Baku, Bilbao, Bucharest, Budapest, Copenhagen, Dublin, Glasgow, London, Munich, Rome and Saint Petersburg, will host the EURO 2020.
The semifinals and final will be held in London's Wembley Stadium. Portugal are the defending champions, winning the UEFA EURO 2016 hosted by France. -
