WHAT HAPPENED?
The 27 members of the European Union unanimously approved a retaliation package exceeding 20 billion euros in response to the customs duties imposed by the U.S. With the new regulation, additional taxes ranging from 10% to 25% would be imposed on certain American products.
The decision included U.S.-origin soybeans, orange juice, beef, and various industrial products.
