The promotional posters for Melania Trump's new documentary "Melania" were vandalized in the U.S.; particularly in Los Angeles, many billboards and bus advertisements were defaced with a mustache reminiscent of Hitler and political messages, prompting officials to move the advertisements to other areas.
The documentary "Melania," featuring Melania Trump, was released on January 30 and its promotional posters were vandalized with graffiti in many cities across America.
In particular, in Los Angeles, visuals drawn on bus stops and billboards included images of the First Lady with a mustache reminiscent of Hitler and phrases like "Eva Braun." This situation has overshadowed the promotional process of the campaign.
BUSES MOVED TO DIFFERENT AREAS
Officials announced that, as a precaution against vandalism, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) has relocated some buses carrying advertisements to different areas. Metro stated that the drawings seen on the billboards have seriously damaged the advertisements and that this step was taken to prevent the incidents from recurring.
POLITICAL REFERENCES WERE ALSO INCLUDED
The vandalism also included insulting phrases written on the posters, derogatory notes about aesthetic interventions, and political references such as allusions to Melania Trump and the Epstein files. These attacks have increased the controversial public reaction to the documentary before its release.
40 MILLION DOLLARS SPENT ON THE DOCUMENTARY
The documentary was produced by Amazon MGM Studios with a budget of 40 million dollars and aims to provide viewers with a behind-the-scenes look at the First Lady's 20-day process leading up to the 2025 Presidential Inauguration. However, the vandalism in the promotional campaign seems to have overshadowed the expected promotional impact of the film.
