After drawing with Fenerbahçe and bidding farewell to Europe, FCSB President Gigi Becali decided to part ways with Denis Alibec, Dennis Politic, and Octavian Popescu, making headlines with his harsh statements.
In the 8th and final week of the UEFA Europa League, Fenerbahçe drew 1-1 away against FCSB. With this result, the yellow-navy team finished the group stage in 19th place with 12 points and advanced to the playoff round. FCSB, remaining at 7 points, bid farewell to the tournament.
Fenerbahçe's goal was scored by İsmail Yüksek, while the home team's goal came from Cisotti. After the final whistle of the match, an earthquake of sorts occurred in Romania.

FCSB President Gigi Becali openly expressed his radical decision in a statement to the Romanian press after the match. Becali announced that he would part ways with three players, stating, "I cannot keep players who do not help me at all. I will send Denis Alibec, Dennis Politic, and Octavian Popescu away."

The experienced president continued with harsh words. Becali said, "I am now convinced. Did you not see what happened on the field? Becali clearly expressed his dissatisfaction with the current squad by citing Cisotti as an example, saying, "He may be weak, but he leaves no place unpressed on the field. I need players like that."

The 67-year-old club president announced that there are suitors for Dennis Politic from Greece, and that Denis Alibec will go to Farul Constanta, coached by Gheorghe Hagi. He also announced that two new transfers would be made to the team.
