In Vaniköy, considered one of the most valuable points of the Istanbul Bosphorus, villa construction has started. Following the sharing of images of the construction, where trees were cut down in the forested area, on social media, the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change took action. Istanbul Provincial Directorate announced that an investigation has been initiated regarding the construction activities in the Boğaziçi Öngörünüm area in Üsküdar Vaniköy. "WARNING LETTER SENT TO İBB"Provincial Director Maliki Ejder Batur stated in a social media post, "Following the determination of unauthorized construction activities in the Boğaziçi Öngörünüm area in Üsküdar Vaniköy, an investigation has been initiated by our Provincial Directorate, and a warning letter has been sent to the relevant institution regarding the necessity of promptly taking the necessary legal actions, as the mentioned area falls within the jurisdiction of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Bosphorus Planning Directorate." ONLY ONE QUESTION REMAINS: HOW DID THEY NOT SEE IT UNTIL AUGUST 16?Following these developments, attention turned to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Bosphorus Planning Branch Directorate, which announced that illegal constructions were demolished and the construction site was sealed on August 16. However, this announcement did not alleviate the criticisms directed at the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality regarding the illegal villa built on the land owned by Russian oligarch Boris Borisenko. After this announcement, many people started asking the question, "How did the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality not see this massive construction in the Bosphorus until August 18?" MINISTRY OFFICIALS FACED RESISTANCEMeanwhile, a scandalous development occurred when Ministry officials arrived for inspection in the area. The owners of the construction site did not allow the inspection teams to enter. As a result of the difficulties caused by the individuals surrounding the illegal construction area in Üsküdar Vaniköy, police teams were dispatched to the area. After the police entered the construction site, the door was opened. Then, the provincial directorate teams were able to enter the construction site and conduct an inspection.
