AFYONKARAHİSAR GOVERNOR: NO CASUALTIES
Afyonkarahisar Governor Kübra Güran Yiğitbaşı visited the factory where the fire broke out to conduct inspections. After her inspection, Yiğitbaşı held a press conference.
Stating that there were no casualties in the fire, Yiğitbaşı noted that two ambulances were on standby at the scene as a precaution. Yiğitbaşı said, "2 ambulances and 6 personnel are present at the scene as a precaution. The fire has grown significantly due to it occurring in a furniture wholesaler. There is a lot of material made of wood and particle board inside, and therefore flammable materials. We have dispatched fire trucks from all districts and towns here. I spoke with the business owner, and for now, thank God, I assess that we have no casualties.
No employees are inside. It is too early to say anything about the fire at this moment. However, the business owner believes it may have originated from an electrical material or perhaps a cigarette butt. We are facing a large fire. The teams are here. We have taken precautions to prevent the fire from reaching other businesses at the back because we assess that there may be flammable materials there as well. We have a plastic business. We hope that our other businesses do not suffer further damage," she stated.
