In Beykoz, 86-year-old famous architect Turgut Toydemir had an argument with police officer S.Ç., who was driving his own vehicle outside of duty hours. When officer S.Ç. attempted to stop Toydemir's vehicle, he fired his gun at the car when it did not stop, resulting in Turgut Toydemir being injured. The famous architect was taken to the hospital by ambulance, while officer S.Ç. was detained along with his weapon. FAMOUS ARCHITECT SHOT BY POLICE OFFICERThe incident occurred around 7:00 PM on Atatürk Street in Kavacık Neighborhood. Police officer S.Ç., who was driving his own vehicle with license plate 34 DF 8762 outside of duty hours, had an argument in traffic with famous architect Turgut Toydemir, who was driving a vehicle with license plate 34 TC 7374. Officer S.Ç. attempted to stop Toydemir's vehicle, and when the famous architect did not stop, he randomly fired his gun at the car. One of the bullets hit Turgut Toydemir, who was driving the vehicle. The injured Toydemir's car came to a stop by hitting the median. After other drivers reported the incident, police and emergency medical teams arrived at the scene. Injured Turgut Toydemir was taken to the hospital by ambulance. POLICE OFFICER DETAINEDPolice officer S.Ç., who did not flee the scene, surrendered and was detained along with his weapon. It was learned that an investigation was initiated against officer S.Ç. for the crime of 'intentional injury' and that he has been suspended.
