Famous singer Bayhan's tragic day! His father has passed away.

Bayhan, who became memorable with his participation in the Popstar competition and announced his name and story to a wide audience, is experiencing the pain of losing his father.

The famous singer, who announced the sad news on his social media account, stated, "My father, Sabahattin Gürhan, has passed away. His funeral will be held on Friday at 15:00, departing from his home in Adana and will be buried at Akkapı cemetery."

WHO IS BAYHAN?

Bayhan Gürhan was born on March 14, 1980, in Adana. He started living in Germany at the age of 5 and received his first music education while staying at a children's home there. After returning to Turkey, he gained widespread recognition in 2003 by participating in the Popstar Türkiye competition broadcasted on Kanal D, where he showcased his unique style and interpretation. After finishing the competition in third place, he released his first album "Hayal Edemiyorum" in 2004 and "Kısa Veda" in 2008. In 2012, he played the character Ayhan in the series "Kendimize Doğru" aired on Samanyolu TV. In 2013, he hosted the documentary program "Benim Yolum," which focused on street musicians. In 2014, he appeared as a guest actor in the series "Ankara'nın Dikmen'i" broadcasted on Kanal D. In 2015, he voiced the character Tuzsuz Deli Bekir in the radio theater "Direkler Arası" on TRT Istanbul City Radio. By 2021, Bayhan released an acoustic album where he reinterpreted many songs, including Sezen Aksu's "İstanbul İstanbul Olalı," "Eller Günahkar," and "Firuze." In the same year, he collaborated with rapper Zen-G on the song "İSTANBUL." In 2024, he re-recorded the song "Tiryakinim," originally performed by Grup Tual. The song quickly became number one on digital platforms and charts, earning the title of the first Turkish song to reach number one on global Spotify charts.
