HE WAS RECEIVING TREATMENT IN THE HOSPITAL
The legendary figure of Arabesque music, Ferdi Tayfur, was hospitalized in Muğla after falling ill at his home in Marmaris in mid-December. Tayfur was transferred to this city by air ambulance at the request of the doctor from the hospital in Antalya where he had previously undergone a kidney transplant. It was reported that the 79-year-old artist had a stent placed in a brain vessel during surgery at a hospital in Antalya 15 days before he fell ill and was discharged. Ferdi Tayfur, who underwent dialysis treatment for a while, had received his son's kidney transplant in Antalya in 2020.
DETAILS OF THE FUNERAL CEREMONY HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED
Details of Ferdi Tayfur's funeral ceremony have also been announced. Recep Ergül, the President of the Turkish Musicians' Rights Organization (MESAM), provided the following information in a written statement regarding Tayfur's funeral: "The first ceremony will be held on January 4, Saturday, at 12:00 PM at the Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM) by MESAM. Ferdi Tayfur's funeral will be taken from Emirgan Çınaraltı Mosque after the afternoon prayer following the ceremony at AKM and will be laid to rest at Yeniköy Cemetery. We invite all his fans and friends to the farewell ceremony to be held on January 4, Saturday, at 12:00 PM at AKM (Turk Telekom Opera Hall)."

As is known, our artist was brought to our hospital by military aircraft on December 16; he had previously undergone surgery for sinus cleaning due to a fungal infection. After the surgery, the artist's health was improving, but unfortunately, he was admitted to intensive care yesterday afternoon due to rapidly progressing liver and kidney failure. Despite ongoing intensive treatment and all efforts of his doctors, our artist passed away at 19:38 this evening.
