In the Congo River in the northwest of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, a motorized wooden boat carrying approximately 500 people, including women and children, caught fire.

Approximately 100 people who survived the disaster were taken to temporary shelters, while those with burns were hospitalized. After the incident that occurred on Tuesday, it was learned that nearly 100 people are still missing.
