The U.S. has elected its 47th president. According to a statement from the White House following Donald Trump's victory, Biden appreciated Harris for her efforts throughout the campaign. Biden stated that selecting Harris as his vice presidential candidate during the 2020 presidential election was his "first and best decision," adding, "(Harris) stood out under extraordinary circumstances and led a historic campaign." Biden noted that Harris would continue to be a leader whom the American people would look up to for generations. WALZ THANKED HARRISMinnesota Governor Tim Walz expressed his gratitude to Harris for selecting him as her vice presidential candidate in a post on X. Thanking the millions of American citizens who supported the campaign, even though the election results were not as they wished, Walz called on Democratic voters to continue fighting for the campaign's core values. In the presidential elections held on November 5 in the U.S., Republican Donald Trump secured his position as the country's 47th president by surpassing 270 delegates. In her speech, Harris announced that she accepted the election defeat and stated that she had called Trump to congratulate him. Similarly, Biden also called Trump to congratulate him on his electoral success and invited him to the White House. Trump will officially begin his term by taking the oath of office on January 20, 2025.
