Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert made a statement that will infuriate his successor, Benjamin Netanyahu. Olmert stated that the Gaza Strip is a part of Palestine and does not belong to Israel.

The "8th Paris Peace Forum," which started yesterday in Paris, the capital of France, is ongoing. Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert participated in the session titled "From Ceasefire to Lasting Peace: Towards a Two-State Solution," held yesterday as part of the forum.

"GAZA IS A PART OF PALESTINE"

Olmert, who stated that the new government controlling Gaza should be Palestinian, said, "Gaza is a part of Palestine. It is not a part of Israel." He emphasized that there should be "a political horizon" for the Palestinian people, stating, "We must strive for this and we must want to achieve it."

ISRAEL IS NOT COMPLYING WITH THE CEASEFIRE

On the other hand, the ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement in Gaza was established between Israel and Hamas as a result of negotiations in Egypt on October 9, and it came into effect on October 10 with the approval of the Israeli government.

In the violent attacks carried out by Israel from the evening of October 28 to the morning of October 29 in different regions of Gaza, 104 Palestinians, including 46 children, lost their lives, and 253 others were injured, as Israel claimed that Hamas violated the ceasefire.

Following the violent attacks, the Israeli army announced on October 29 that the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip had been reinstated, and according to reports in the Israeli press, the ceasefire began at 10:00 local time (11:00 TRT).
