A woman who presented to the hospital in Bolu with complaints of sore throat, nausea, and dizziness was found to have mad cow disease in tests conducted on her cerebrospinal fluid (CSF).

Last month, a woman named Z.A. presented to İzzet Baysal Training and Research Hospital in Bolu with complaints of sore throat, nausea, and dizziness. Subsequently, as Z.A.'s complaints did not subside, a sample of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) was taken.



SENT TO THE LABORATORY IN ISTANBUL



The samples taken from the patient were later sent to the Brain and Neurodegenerative Diseases Research Laboratory of Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty.



TREATMENT CONTINUES IN ISOLATED AREA



Tests conducted here revealed that Z.A. had 'mad cow' disease in her brain tissue. It was learned that Z.A.'s treatment continues in an isolated area in the palliative unit of İzzet Baysal State Hospital.
