In the rescue operations at the seven-story building that collapsed in the Gebze district of Kocaeli, moments of communication with Dilara Bilir, who was rescued alive through seismic monitoring, were captured on camera.
In the district of Gebze, Dilara Bilir (18) from the Bilir family of five, trapped under the rubble of a collapsed building, was rescued with her consciousness intact around 15:50 yesterday and was taken to the hospital. THEY SEARCHED FOR DILARA WITH SEISMIC LISTENING DEVICES
During the operations, images emerged of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality fire crews using sensitive acoustic listening devices to listen in the rubble. In the footage, an official asked everyone in the area to stop and be quiet, warning, "Friends, please stop walking even if it's 50-100 meters away. Acoustic listening will be conducted."
THOSE MOMENTS ON CAMERA
After absolute silence was ensured, a rescue worker called out towards the void in the rubble, "Is there anyone who can hear my voice? If you can hear me, respond. If you can't respond, hit something." Shortly after, Dilara Bilir's voice was heard from under the rubble. When asked by the teams, "Are you stuck somewhere?" Dilara replied, "No," and was instructed, "Keep hitting in a regular manner. Stay calm." After the vocal contact, the teams intensified their rescue efforts at the point where the sound was coming from. Those moments were captured second by second on a mobile phone camera.
